Frequently asked questions

Does Serpavo need an account or an internet connection?

No account. Once a map region is installed, map, place search, routing, navigation and recording work without reception. A connection is only needed to download or update map packages.

How are map regions downloaded and updated?

Open Offline maps from the settings and choose a region. By default, downloads and updates only use Wi-Fi; mobile data can be allowed in the settings. Installed regions are checked for updates once a day and updated automatically.

Does navigation continue with the screen locked?

Yes. During a ride, Serpavo keeps receiving your position in the background, and iOS shows the location indicator in the status bar. Location access must be set to “While Using the App” with Precise Location in iOS Settings → Serpavo → Location. Background location ends when the ride ends.

The lean angle looks wrong. What helps?

Mount the iPhone upright and firmly on the handlebar. The mount check in the settings shows how level it sits. The lean angle levels itself at the start of every ride, so start the ride with the motorcycle upright. It remains an estimate.

Can voice prompts be turned off?

Yes, in the settings and during a ride. There you can also choose whether prompts lower other audio while they speak.

Where are rides stored?

On your iPhone. If you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer, rides and routes are included. Map packages are not backed up and can be downloaded again.

Exporting and importing GPX

Open a ride and choose Export GPX or Share. To import, use the import button in the ride list and pick a GPX file; the ride can then be ridden again.

Deleting rides, routes and maps

Swipe a ride or a saved route to the left in the list. Regions are deleted in Offline maps. Deleting the app removes everything; there is no server copy to remove.
